Cantilever House

This family asked me for a warm minimalist house, so I used very modern lines and details disguised with rustic materials. The lot has big views and wonderful southern exposure perfect for passive solar and a rare case in a ski resort. The site has a dramatic slope allowed me to design the house to reach out over the land stretching out the cantilevered deck and living space. We married the inside with the outside with large pocketing doors in the main level that open to the view and deck.
